Truely a wonderful vintage Cobb item, for the most avid collector. Tyrus Raymond Cobb was born in Georgia in 1886. He joined the Detroit Tigers in 1905 and would play for them until 1926, managing them from 1921-1926. He finished his career with the Philadelphia Atheletics 1927-1928. Cobb won 12 batting titles, including 9 in a row from 1907 to 1915, ending with a career batting average of .367. Cobb amassed 4191 hits during his career. Known for his intense desire to win, he joined Babe Ruth, Honus Wagner, Christy Mathewson and Walter Johnson as one of the first five players elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Ty was the greatest Detroit Tiger of all-time and without a doubt one of baseball’s greates players. His cards and memorabilia to rank among the hobbies most sought after items.
